"4th Street Backyards: Story of a Relationship" Digital Captures.
During my "Raymond Chandler Period" I lived on W. 4th St. & La Jolla Ave. 2007-2009, around the corner from Drexel Ave. where Mr. Chandler had once lived. This was also the end of a long, 17 year "relationship" with the man I was sharing this large space with. I discovered this backyard "set" on the west-side of our building, which changed subtly from day to day, with dramatic
lighting changes from dawn to dusk. Photographs from this window on the second floor, became a series of images, which gradually darkened, much like the lights dimming on a theatrical stage. The last image, before I moved out, was almost black, the ending of the play...
